Frederick Funston

Frederick N. Funston also known as Fred Funston, was a General in the United States Army, best known for his role in the SpanishAmerican War and the PhilippineAmerican War. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the PhilippineAmerican War.

Funston was born in New Carlisle, Ohio, before his family moved to Allen County, Kansas, in 1881. His father, Edward H. Funston, was elected to the United States House of Representatives.
